Liverpool have enjoyed a fantastic season thus far and Jurgen Klopp will hope his in-form side can secure another home victory on Tuesday – with Stoke the visitors for the Reds’ post-Christmas clash.
The Merseyside outfit have implemented an attacking style of play under the German gaffer that has seen them bag the most goals of any Premier League club this term – an impressive 41 – as they pursue an important first league title since 1990.
And history suggests we’ll see some sublime strikes on Tuesday night. Whatever the reason, the Reds have a real track history of netting worldies against the Bet365 Stadium outfit.
Don’t believe us? Well, we’re opening the vault to prove it. Indeed, here’s a look at five of Liverpool’s greatest wonder-strikes against Stoke throughout the Premier League era.

5. Steven Gerrard – 2015
If ever there was a goal to sum up the capability of a player, then Steven Gerrard’s goal on his final Liverpool appearance did just that.
Despite the Reds being humiliated 6-1 at the Bet365 Arena, Gerrard popped up with a consolation goal to ensure his final appearance for the Merseysiders brought some joy.
Gerrard’s run from midfield and exceptional timing highlighted the Liverpool icon’s ability.
4. Divock Origi – 2016
The Belgian forward struggled to adapt to life on Merseyside until Jurgen Klopp’s arrival in October of last year. Moments of brilliance, as witnessed against Stoke in April, further highlight the importance he has to their title credentials this season.
Origi received the ball on the left-wing before dribbling into a dangerous position and fire in his second of the contest.
Liverpool ran out 4-1 winners and Origi’s performance gained many admirers amongst the Liverpool support.
3. Luis Suarez – 2012
Luis Suarez in cup competitions was a sight the Potters faithful grew relatively tired of in the end.
During their 2012 F.A. Cup tie, the two sides battled for a place in the semi-final with Suarez’s devastating strike the deciding factor.
Liverpool would go on to the final but suffer defeat to Chelsea at Wembley and end the season in seventh position.
2. Philippe Coutinho – 2015
The Reds travelled to the Potteries on the opening day of last season hoping to avenge that dreaded 6-1 defeat.
A dull and dreary contest came before us until Philippe Coutinho decided to take matters into his own hands and secure the Reds all three points.
His last-minute, thirty yard, wonder strike meant that Liverpool kicked off their new season high in optimism – however, it wouldn’t last long.
1. Luis Suarez – 2011
It’s not the first time Suarez has appeared on the list. A stunning goal against the Potters in the Capital One Cup further highlighted the ability of the Uruguay international.
Suarez’s curling shot gave the Merseysiders the victory and secured their place in the next round. The goal has not been forgotten about.
