David Moyes is looking to solve his goal-scoring problem by adding French goal machine Jeremy Perbet to his squad in January, as reported in the Daily Mirror.
The 26-year-old striker has been in great touch this season scoring 15 goals in 16 games for Belgian club Mons. Moyes may face tough competition for the hit-man after Anderlecht, Marseille and Genoa have all been alerted of the Frenchman’s form.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is looking for an investor in the club as Moyes has had very little money to spend over the past 18 months. After losing Yakubu and Jermaine Beckford in the summer, the Toffees have struggled to hit the net this season with Louis Saha and Apostolos Vellios the only recognised strikers at the club.
Mons’ Perbet has scored goals throughout his whole career but has clearly come into his prime this season in the Belgian top flight. It is believed that Perbet has a £1million buy-out clause in his current contract and a whole host of clubs will be happy to match that in January with Everton definitely one of them.
It is also believed that he has re-negotiation clause if a bigger club comes in for him and so Moyes could open negotiations to beat their rivals to the promising striker’s signature.
